EDUNIVERSAL raises the rating of BASBF – 3 Palms of Excellence in 2021
On November 17, 2021, during the annual EDUNIVERSAL conference, BA School of Business and Finance was awarded a higher rating – 3 Palms of Excellence, recognizing BA as a university that is an excellent business management and finance university with regional influence and is constantly strengthening its international performance and importance. Therefore, BASBF is ranked among Latvia’s three best business management/financial universities.

BASBF receives BMDA international award for promoting financial literacy
On the 8th of October, 2021, during the 19th Annual Conference of the Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) BA School of Business and Finance receives an evaluation award for a significant contribution to the promotion of financial literacy in Latvia. MDA is a regional management development network, initiated by universities, business schools, individual professors and business professionals from the Baltic and other countries. BMDA currently unites 70 members from 27 countries.

BASBF has significantly stepped up performance in the U-Multirank ranking
BA School of Business and Finance in international U-Multirank ranking increased its score considerably among 21 higher education institutions in Latvia regarding its performance profile. In 2021 in four categories: Teaching and Learning, International Orientation, Regional Engagement and Knowledge Transfer, BA School of Business and Finance has received one of the highest scores.

BA School of Business and Finance receives the prestigious CEEMAN IQA international quality accreditation
In July 2020, the university was awarded the prestigious CEEMAN IQA (IQA – International Quality Accreditation) study and research management system quality assessment certificate. The international CEEMAN IQA accreditation status has been granted to the BA School of Business and Finance until July 2026.

All study programs of the BA School of Business and Finance have received the highest evaluation in the evaluation of higher education study programs and have been accredited for a maximum period of 6 years (until September 30, 2027, or April 10, 2023).

Awarded the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) seal of approval
On June 3, 2014, BA School of Business and Finance was the first in Latvia to receive the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) award granted by the European Commission (EC), which confirms that the university implements study programs based on knowledge, skills and competencies. The mark of recognition is a confirmation that ECTS is actually used in the study process and that the study programs are mutually comparable with the study programs of other countries.

Obtained high places in the Eduniversal rating
For more than 5 years, the BA School of Business and Finance has been ranked among the 1000 best business schools in the world in the Eduniversal international business school ranking. Eduniversal’s international scientific committee recognized the Master’s study program “International Finance and Banking” of BASBF as one of the best Master’s and MBA study programs in the world:
- In 2019, the master’s study program “International Finance and Banking” was nominated as the 14th best among Eastern European financial management master’s study programs.
Eduniversal is an organization of the French company SMBG, which specializes in higher education and career guidance, and it annually ranks among the top 1,000 business schools and universities.

Awarded Investor in Excellence quality certificate
For the fourth time, BA School of Business and Finance has received the international Investor in Excellence quality certificate after the certification of the internal quality management system on May 19, 2010, and the periodic re-certification provided for in the standard on March 14, 2013, February 11, 2015, and May 16, 2017. The certificate was awarded by the representative of the British quality assessment organization Ltd “Investors in Excellence” in Latvia to LLC “Latvia Excellence“. The standard provides for re-certification of the quality management system every two years in order to regularly determine the improvement of the organization and ensure the reliability of the certificate.
Awarded SQA Certification Center status by the Scottish Qualifications Agency
In April 2013, BA School of Business and Finance obtained the accreditation of the Scottish qualifications agency SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority), which gives the university the status of a recognized certification centre of this agency and gives the right to implement the SQA-certified training module “Financial Management”. After completing the module, students are awarded the professional qualification of financial manager and issued an international certificate.
Awarded NIBS accreditation of the International Business School Network
Since 2008, the BA School of Business and Finance has been represented in the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) as an accredited member. NIBS aims to promote the exchange of professional experience and the latest knowledge among students, lecturers and administrative staff not only in Europe but also in other regions of the world. in 2009 for the first time and after six years in 2015 once again, BASBF received confirmation of compliance with NIBS international accreditation criteria, according to which the internationalization index of the university has been determined.
Obtained high places at the TOP of educational institutions and study programs recommended by employers
The “Finance” bachelor’s study program at BA School of Business and Finance is the 5th most recommended by employers, and the “Business Management” bachelor’s study program is the 10th most recommended among more than five hundred study programs in Latvia. The programs received such an evaluation in the 2017 TOP of educational institutions and training programs recommended by employers, created by the Confederation of Latvian Employers in cooperation with the career portal “prakse.lv”. In 2015, BASBF entered the top five universities recommended by employers for the sixth year in a row. Every year, more and more employers express their opinion, recommending both the most sought-after professions and educational institutions where, according to their previous experience, it is possible to acquire the knowledge and skills most relevant to the labour market in these professions. In 2022, 2,681 employers participated in the creation of TOP, recommending a total of 90 educational institutions that offer various specialities.
