The Winners of each category of Europian Enterprise promotion award 2021 will be announced during the Annual EEPA SME assembly on November 15th – 17th, BA School of Business and Finance was informed by EEPA (European Enterprise Promotion Award).

Elina Peiseniece, the BASBF  graduate and the head of competition Bizness24h in 2021 shares:

“These are special news to the BA School of Business and Finance, particularly for the Student Council who are the organisers of this contest and for all our partners. We are very, very pleased to be the winners of the National Award 2021 in Latvia and will keep all our thumbs up for the final round for this prize at European level in November. I remember, it started with the idea in 2009 as an event for couple of days  with a small group of members. That is where the 24 hours in the name come from – because then the business within the simulation game had to be thought at least for 24h to produce a good result. Now we’re already hundreds of participants, with different formats and really current topics. In 2020 we wanted participants to feel a true taste of business so we integrated the case study into the competition. Meanwhile under the global pandemic we wanted to allow participants to acquire more valuable skills and introduce a practical masterclass for developing and implementing sales strategies for two months instead of developing their normal business plans. We were increasingly convinced that Business24h, as a project for promoting entrepreneurship for our talented young people, is an excellent idea and model of just as good cooperation with a real business environment, with responsive Latvian and foreign companies. Now, the European Commission’s high assessment strengthens our confidence that it is worth continuing and growing further.”

Business24h is the largest annual Entrepeneurship Development Competition in Latvia for secondary school pupils and students, within which participants acquire new knowledge of business and use them in real business simulations. Business24h is organised by the The Student Council of the BA School of Business and Finance (BASP) together with the BASBF and Nordic Group, with partners:  Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), Swedbank, airBaltic, and this year also TET and “ClickFunnell” (US). This year, the Business24h contest took place for the 13th time, and for the first time it was organised completely remotely with around 700 pupils and students enrolled for Round 1. On May 10, the “Business Guru 2021”  title was won by the team “Trīs lietas manā zāļu skapītī stāv!”, representing Riga State Gymnasium No. 1 and Agenskalns State Gymnasium:
