The new composition of the Higher Education Council today, 21.01.2021, has received the support of the Saeima. In the future, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), the strategic direction of the higher education sector will be in the hands of experts approved today – industry representatives, including Tatjana Volkova, Professor of the BA School of Business and Finance: in the development of regulatory documents, as well as co-operation with all interested parties in the improvement of the quality of higher education and ensuring its accessibility.”
Professor Tatjana Volkova has been working at the BA School of Business and Finance since 1998. From 2006 to 2011, T. Volkova was the rector of the BA Scholl of Business and Finance, before that she also worked as the vice-rector. Currently, T.Volkova continues to work as a professor, giving lectures in such study courses as “Strategic Management” and “Business Models of Enterprises”.
The Council of Higher Education (AIP) is an independent institution of the Republic of Latvia, which develops the state strategy of higher education, implements cooperation between universities, state institutions and society in the development of higher education, monitors the quality of higher education, and ensures decision-making on higher education. The AIP is approved by the Saeima for four years with thirteen members. The Minister of Education and Science, as a member of the Higher Education Council, represents the Council at government meetings.
