The three-day scientific conference – 13th Annual Scientific Baltic Business Management Conference ( ASBBMC 20′), organized bay BA School of Business and Finance (BA SBF), RISEBA University of Applied Sciences and Stockholm School of Economics in Riga has reached the finish line. The main focus of this year’s conference is reflected in its title “Business and Finance: Multi-Perspectives of the Digital Age”. While content accents were linked to three areas: green finance, digitization, cybersecurity.
During the first part of the plenary session, there were discussed topics related to the emerging Green Finance principle by representatives from the European Commission (Martins Zemitis), Altum (Reinis Berzins) and Stockholm Sustainable Finance Centre (Dr. Gregor Vulturius). Next, during the second part of the plenary session, two speakers from the banking and IT industries (Martins Berzins from Citadele bank, Kristaps Banga from Accenture) introduced the Digital Transformation trends. The plenary session was concluded with the expert panel discussion, above mentioned keynote speakers and academics: prof. Arnis Sauka (SSE Riga), Dr. Ilja Arefjevs (BA SBF) and Dr. Natalija Cudecka-Purina (BA SBF).
During the first two days of the conference, there were covered numerous topics related to entrepreneurship, economics, finance and a general shift of paradigms in these fields.
This year there has been introduced a separate conference platform event. This time it is devoted to Cybersecurity by Design, which took place on Friday and was being led by one of the most experienced cybersecurity professionals in Latvia – Sintija Deruma – for both, students and experienced cybersecurity professionals to share research results and interact solely on a selected topic.
Also, for the first time, there was introduced a digital poster format for participation – this means possibility for attendees to get acquainted with a larger number of research results in a summarised format (a single Powerpoint slide) on screens rotating all day long in parallel to the main program of the conference and then ask questions to authors during devoted time slots. This enables sharing more information and research findings to a larger number of people within a shorter time span.
We welcome you to reserve February 17-19, 2021 for the 14th ASBBMC conference, to be hosted by RISEBA University, to present your upcoming research findings.
