Library working hours in the summer of 2024In summer months, the Library of BASBF will be closed between 9th of July and 20th of August. During this time readers can apply for an individual visit to the library by arranging visit time via e-mail biblioteka@ba.lv. When library is closed, lent items can be returned at the BASBF Information desk. |

About library
The library ensures the study process and scientific work providing students, academic staff and other customers with library, bibliographic, informative and copying services. The library stock has been created taking into consideration the specialization of BA and is being supplemented with new materials. There are more than 10 000 copies of monographic publications and other information units, mainly on banking, finance and entrepreneurship. To provide students with self-study opportunities the library offers access to the legislation and other normative documentation of Republic of Latvia, monographs, reference publications, statistical data, internet resources and other materials and services. Library collection occupies two rooms, separating reading room and the part of collection that is available for loan. All the library materials are accessible in the reading room; books from the loan room are also available for bringing home.
Library staff consults readers on the best methods for seeking relevant information. The library has an electronic catalogue which is formed within the integrated library system ALISE. It provides the search of publications according to different parameters and is available on the internet. Any user can search information in the electronic catalogue, clarify the number and location of copies and read the description of the source of information. ALISE enables authorized users to check the state of their account, to request loan extension and to make a reservation of books. The librarian provides authorization data for personalized catalogue accounts.
There are 15 computerized seats with access to the internet in the reading-room, as well as printing services. Some computers are with access to a camera and microphone. Scanning or printing library materials is permitted accordingly to the library usage instructions. It is possible to plug in and use laptops and the wireless internet. Next to the library, a room for study and research activities is located, which is open 24/7 regardless of the library working hours.
