Since 2008 BA School of Business and Finance has been among the best 1000 business schools and universities in the world in the nomination „Outstanding Business Schools”.
Eduniversal is an organization of French company SMBG which specializes in higher education and career issues and it creates annually the rating of the best 1000 business schools and universities. During the last 18 months Eduniversal International Scientific Committee has summarized data about more than 12 000 Master’s study programmes of 1000 leading business schools in the world. Relying on ten year experience in assessing Master’s study programmes Eduniversal as a market leader decided to create a global map with 4000 leading Master’s study programmes in 30 areas of studies in 153 countries.
In 2012 the Master’s study program „International Finance and Banking” was recognized as the 13 among the best in the Corporate Finance Master’s study program group in Eastern Europe in Eduniversal International Scientific Committee rating of 1000 the best business schools and universities, while the professional Master’s Study program „Business Management in Creative Industries” ranked 41nd among the best arts and culture management Master’s study program.
Eduniversal International Scientific Committee assessed the programmes according to three criteria: reputation of the programme, the salary of the graduates in their first job and student satisfaction. The most essential is student satisfaction and at the same time it is a unique assessment criteria. Almost 100 000 graduates participated in Eduniversal survey evaluating their study programme. Eduniversal Master’s study programme evaluation provides a serious and unique information source for other students, professionals and employers as well as higher educational establishments and universities in the world. The progress of BA in international market has been one of the strategic priorities for several years. Eduniversal evaluation of BA two study programmes ranking them among 50 the best Master’s study programmes in the world is not only the evidence of the quality of educational services, but also an achievement related to the development of Latvia education system.
LATVIA RATING OF HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS
The role of BA in Latvia education system is proved by the fact that BA ranks immediately after the large universities in Latvia Rating of Higher Educational Establishments.
In 2012 BA ranked the eighth in Latvia Rating of Higher Educational Establishments prepared annually by „Latvijas Avīze” in cooperation with Latvia University and experts from different sectors as well as the market and public opinion research centre SKDS. The rating includes all 33 Latvia higher educational establishments – founded both by state and legal entities. In this rating BA ranks the seventh among state-founded higher educational establishments and the sixth among Riga higher educational establishments. It is a significant achievement taking into account that BA is a single profile higher educational establishment and in rating are compared higher educational establishments irrespective of their size, number of profiles and functions. At the same time for all the five years since the higher educational establishment rating was created BA has pointed out that the assessment criteria and the methodology applied does not reflect completely the operation quality of higher educational establishments and it is important to include relevant criteria in the assessment. For instance, business higher educational establishments would need a completely different assessment system than arts and technical higher educational establishments. In spite of the high evaluation, BA administration believes that these ratings cannot serve as an objective tool for choosing the study area and the higher educational establishment.
PRAISE GOOD SERVICE
To prove the desire to provide an outstanding service BA participated in the campaign „Praise Good Service” in 2011. BA was recognized as the most praised higher educational establishment in Latvia.
This campaign has been annually carried out in Latvia for eight years. It is run for more than two weeks every March. Labsserviss.lv team in cooperation with Swedbank and Lattelecom invites all inhabitants to participate in the campaign „Praise Good Service” and to evaluate good service or express their satisfaction to any employee working in the service sector. The essence of the campaign is to invite the society to appreciate positive things around us and praise good service. You can praise the company providing service or an employee who has provided good service, good emotions and a smile. During the campaign enterprises and the society are invited to pay more attention to the customer service culture and the most praised enterprises as well as state and municipality institutions in Latvia are brought to the front. Among them were enterprises which had received the largest number of positive comments from their customers as well as received the highest evaluation in the TNS Latvia customer service quality assessment research.
