The program is designed for those who intend to significantly enhance their knowledge in the wealth management process, due to their personal or professional needs. The program is content-oriented and comprehensively covers fundamental areas of wealth management brought by selected local as well as foreign professionals and academics. “Wealth Management” is a full-time program, which is based on the convenient “Flex-MBA” study schedule.

BA School of Business and Finance promotes different international activities in order to offer students to get more practical experience in business, leadership and teamwork, as well as communicate with students from different cultures.

On December 18 the first Public Discussion „National economy of Latvia – yesterday; today; tomorrow” took place in BA School of Business and Finance.

This is the 3rd year for doctor’s study programme „Business administration”!

 

BA School of Business and Finance implements this programme in cooperation with Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (RISEBA) and Ventspils University College (VUC).

24 ERASMUS students from other European Union countries will spend their spring semester in BA School of Business and Finance. 4 students will practice in the enterprises of Latvia.

 

BA School of Business and Finance is pleased to welcome 8 students from France, 4 students from Portugal, 3 students from Denmark, 3 students from Austria, 2 students from Hungary and 1 student from Lichtenstein, Germany, Belgium, Spain.

On January 2009 the Board of the „Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Latvia„ has officially approved the membership of the BA School of Business and Finance  in the Chamber. The BA School of Business and Finance hopes to make new contacts and to develop international cooperation through the contacts of the „Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Latvia” with the companies, associations and state institutions in Switzerland and also in Lichtenstein.

 

On Thursday, the 12th of March, at 15:30 The BA School of Business and Finance will host a lecture by Dr. Danny Teal. The theme of the lecture will be “A Plan for Strategic Business Development”. Venue: BA School of Business and Finance, K.Valdemara street 161.

 

On Thursday, the 19th of March, at 15:30 The BA School of Business and Finance will host a lecture by Bruno Kaspar, director of Swiss Baltic Chamber of Commerce in Latvia. The theme of the lecture will be “Impact of the Financial Crisis to Switzerland and the Tumbling of the Banking Secrecy – Facts and Myths”. Venue: BA School of Business and Finance, K.Valdemara street 161.

 

On Wednesday, the 15th April, at 12:00 The BA School of Business and Finance held a press conference. The theme of the press conference was “Value of the education in crisis. Higher education as export goods„.

On Thursday, May 21 at 3:45 pm Member of the European Parliament Dr. oec. Roberts Zīle will give a lecture „Policy options to recovery - who does what?” at BA School of Business and Finance, K.Valdemara Street 161, conference hall. Language: Latvian.

On Thursday, May 7 at 3:45 pm Parex bank Chairman of the board Mr. Nils Melngailis will give a lecture „Greatest challenges and crisis management solutions in Parex bank, future development perspectives” at BA School of Business and Finance, K.Valdemara Street 161, Conference hall.

On Tuesday, May 12 at 15:40 Head of Antitrust: Financial services unit at European Commission Miss T.Verrier will give a lecture „How to apply and get a job at European Commision?”

Students of The BA School of Business and Finance Master's degree study programme „Creative Industries Management” are involved in organising the discussion „Sustainable Latvian fashion development?

Ventspils University College, Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration and BA School of  Business and Finance organized the 4th International scientific conference “Information Society and Modern Business” which was held on May 14-16, 2009 in Ventspils.

On the 6th of June, the Latvian citizens will have the opportunity to vote for their representation in the new European Parliament. The European Union is playing an increasing role on society of its member states, and therefore the vote of the Latvian citizens is of high importance. Public lecture at BA School of Business and Finance will be held by European Parliament information office representatives Mr. Wouter A. Van der Wolk and Ms. Amelie Krüger.

Due to the quality of education and international cooperation BA School of Business and Finance has become a member of EFMD – a leading international network in the field of management development that unites leading business schools from Europe and all over the world. Membership at EFMD can be acquired only by those schools, which have proven to have high quality education standards and have actively participated in student and academic staff international exchange programs.

University Campus and New Study Programs of BA School of Business and Finance BA School of Business and Finance has started a new project to develop university campus using the PPP approach. The project expects to build a modern university campus with faculty and administrative buildings, student dorms, sport centre, café, etc. - everything which is needed to ensure efficient study process.

In September three foreign guest lecturers will visit the BA School of Business and Finance. From 7th till 10th of September three guest speakers will give lectures to the BA School of Business and Finance students. Guest lecturer Nathan Keeves from Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (Germany) will give an English language classes on theme “How to build up a presentation”. Lecturers Wlodzimierz Wudarzewski and Jerzy Jagoda from Wroclav School of Banking (Poland) will organize business simulation game in Strategic management course.

From 17th till 20th of September representatives from the Budapest Business School visited BA School of Business and Finance to discuss co-operation possibilities and to create a successful partnership. Delegation consisted of the rector of the Budapest Business School Eva Sandora-Krizst and vice-rector Balazs Ferkelt (Financial and Accounting College Dean) Andras Janosa.
